Ria paints the world orange with its retail network expansion

When it comes to retail success, the famous real estate mantra got it right: it’s all about location, location, location. And Ria’s mission to paint the world orange is still on track with the steady expansion of its global retail network. In 2017, the company opened more than 20 stores across Europe, North and South America with several other stores getting a fresh new look. This brings the total global retail network to almost 350 stores which are part of a wider network of more than 343,000 locations. At this rate, Ria is expected to become the second largest money transfer company in the world in terms of locations in the coming months. With several retail stores also opening in prime European tourist locations – the most recent being Berlin’s famous Checkpoint Charlie – the company is satisfying strong demand for both Money Transfer and Currency Exchange services.

Money transfer is at the core of what we do, however. And as Ria’s European Retail Director, Patricio Rojas Hubner explains, “We are building a consistent brand across our retail network and as Ria has grown and evolved, some of the design elements have too. We have a good pipeline of openings this year, with new stores opening almost monthly, many of which are excellent examples of our brand.”   As part of the updated look and feel, European Marketing Executive, Blanca Eleta – also a trained architect – created a new design concept for the stores, “I wanted to bring a cleaner, fresher look to the store experience, with more light and space,” she explained. “It’s always a challenge to find the best use of a space, especially for some of the smaller stores, but the feedback from the staff and retail managers has been very positive.” Once the most-famous Berlin Wall crossing points between East and West Berlin, Checkpoint Charlie is now a very popular tourist attraction.  We recorded the following video during the opening of our latest Ria store in this iconic area.
